For autumnal days, it’s all about easy layers. I have collaborated with retail giant Woolworths.co.za and we are showing you how to brave the winter chill in style. All you need are the right essentials. Let's talk about the sherpa hoodie and the fleece jacket. Not only do they provide softness and warmth, but a much needed dose of style for those days when it’s safe to venture outside. There are a few things to consider when shopping for outerwear — the material, the weight and the price point and Woolworths are ticking all the right boxes.

Scroll down for ways to switch up your layering game.

Sometimes, we’ll rummage through our wardrobes for hours, only to realise that what we need are just a few simple items to construct the perfect look.

The real benefit of owing a fleece jacket is that it will keep you warm all day long. For me the comfy fabric leans toward a more casual wear, but there are some easy ways to make it feel a little more dressed up. Try playing around with different textures and fabrics — its one of my favourite styling tricks. To achieve an effortlessly look try the half zip fleece over a shirt and throw on a blazer for a smart casual approach. A pair of slim-fit chinos will tie everything together. Dressed by Woolworths.

Sherpa hoodies are it! If there’s one item in a man’s closet he can’t live without, it has to be that soft, cozy hoodie — a prime choice for comfortable layering in colder months. The hoodie provides ultimate comfort through its lightweight stretch fabric that allows for greater flexibility in movement. Here I’ve styled the tan hoodie with light blue jeans and leather boots — an off-duty combination that we all need when we don’t have no extra time. Dressed by Woolworths.

If you’re planning to go for a jog or running some errands, these sporty pieces are your saviour. The full zip fleece in a monochrome colour palette styled with the die hard grey track pants, a cotton v-neck t-shirt and sneakers is a no brainer. Pro tip: the muted basics make the fleece jacket the hero in this look. The main thing I look for in staples is versatility, and a stylish hoodie always have a place in my closet. The sherpa hoodie with the fun tie dye print looks great with jogger pants. I’ve kept the styling tonal so the focus is on the tie e dye print. This look gives me maximum comfort with eye catching details. I’m pretty sure I’ll be living in this hoodie come winter.
